Is social media taking up too much of your time? If your answer is yes, I hear ya, and I’m right there with you! Social media can be a time-consuming beast, but it doesn’t have to be. I’ve been on a mission to find ways to streamline and make my process more efficient, and I recently dug into a Metricool feature that I think will be a game-changer for all of us trying to keep our content in front of our audience. Let me introduce you to Autolist!
Autolist is a fantastic feature from Metricool that allows you to create a list of content you can serve up automatically without setting up each individual post every single time. Imagine having a tool that shares your carefully crafted content to the right network at the right time, on specific days and times, and can even repeat this process automatically. This isn’t just about scheduling individual posts; it’s about creating a consistent presence with minimal effort. By setting up your Autolists, you ensure your audience always receives your content, keeping your brand top of mind without the constant need for manual posting.
You might think, “But I want to create custom posts and don’t want to repeat content.” I get it. The idea of repetition might seem less appealing at first, but it’s crucial to remember that staying in front of people is essential. Studies suggest that potential clients need to see your message at least seven times before they act on it. Many times, people don’t see your content the first, second, or even third time it’s posted. So, repeating your message is not just okay—it’s necessary.
One of the common struggles I hear from small business owners is the quality vs. quantity debate. Do you post more often with less quality or less often with higher quality? The answer lies in leveraging tools like Autolist to maintain a steady flow of quality content without the constant manual effort. Autolist helps you keep quality content in front of your audience without overwhelming yourself with the process.
It’s important to note, however, that I’m not suggesting that Autolist replace the need for customized content in your main feed. In fact, quite the opposite – I’m suggesting that you use your limited resources to create high quality content for your main feed, and then repurpose it by using Autolist. Think of Autolist as a way to repurpose that main feed content to supplement the customized content you are creating. By using it, you can maximize the reach and effectiveness of your core content, ensuring that it continues to engage your audience long after it’s initially posted.
Here’s how I’m starting to use this feature in my own business. There are key areas I want to regularly post about, such as my services, my weekly email, and my community. For example, I want to post Instagram and Facebook stories to regularly remind people about The Small Business Success Society, my community for small business owners. To make this happen, I created an Autolist called “Small Business Success Society,” chose Instagram and Facebook as the platforms, set the timing, added the story content, set it to repeat, and confirmed it was enabled. Taking the time to set this up means my story content will automatically publish at the designated times, keeping that reminder front and center without me having to manually post it regularly. I call that a major win for time savings, not to mention the fact that it probably wouldn’t get done if I had to manually do it on top of my other content creation and scheduling tasks!
Here are a few ideas:
To get started, you can create one Autolist or several, depending on your needs. Here’s a quick strategy to get you going:
Here are the actual steps to create your own Autolist:
The level of customization you require will be unique to you, but the Autolist feature offers a versatile solution that can fit into your social media strategy.
Social media doesn’t have to be a time-consuming task that takes you away from the core of your business. By using Metricool’s Autolist in conjunction with your current strategy, you can automate and repurpose your content delivery, ensuring that your key messages are consistently promoted to your audience even when you’re busy with other important tasks. It’s not a “set it and forget it” solution, but it’s a tool that can help you maintain a strong social media presence without the constant manual effort.
So, give Autolist a try and see how it can save you time and keep your content flowing. Your business will thank you for it!
