Buying a 17hats Template? Here’s How to Make It Work for You

  1. This is such a useful guide for anyone looking to streamline their workflow with 17Hats templates! I appreciate how you broke down the process of customizing the template to fit individual needs—it makes the idea of using pre-made templates feel a lot less intimidating.

I’m curious, do you think it’s worth investing in a template if you’re just starting out with 17Hats, or is it better to build things from scratch to fully understand the system? Either way, this post provides great insights for making the most out of the platform. Thanks for sharing!

Great question, Annie! And thank you for your kind words on the post. I think the answer to your question really depends…on the type of template and the type of person. Some templates are super simple – adding email and document templates, for example. They can easily be added to an account without any additional setup, and can be used immediately after purchasing. Others are much more involved, including workflows, online scheduling services, etc. This where I think it depends on the type of person. If you’re a bit of a DIY’er, and are willing to dig in and set up the pieces of the template that require your input, templates are a great way to learn best practices and shorten the learning curve with the system. However, if you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy digging into the details and would prefer to have someone else set it up, the more involved templates probably aren’t for you. The alternative to that is hiring someone like me to do all the setups, and that is generally more of an investment. So…the bottom line is that it really depends on the person, and whether they are a DIY’er, a “Done for You” kind of person, or something in between. 😉
